    Re-waxing a jacket at home

Waxed cotton stops shedding rain when the wax wears thin at the shoulders and cuffs. Re-waxing takes about ten minutes.

    You will need

    • A tin of fabric wax
    • A soft cloth
    • A hairdryer

    How to do it

Warm the tin in a bowl of hot water until the wax is soft. Rub it into the fabric in small circles, working into the seams. Go over the jacket with the hairdryer so the wax soaks in evenly, then hang it somewhere warm overnight.
